(I know we've had these before, but I thought to start a thread anyway - it's been a while)
I'll ask the first one, anyone guessing / answering can throw another question: Which defenseman Avs franchise has taken first overall in NHL draft?

I would agree with Calgary...unless it's some East team that we've dominate since the 90s, but that seems unlikely.

And it is indeed an eastern team. The longest streak has been against Tampa Bay, winning six consecutive games against them.

The correct answer depends on what "longest" means. If it's games, then it's both Tampa Bay and Calgary, 6 games. If it's time, then it's Tampa Bay, to which Avs haven't lost since 3/1/2004, or, 2166 days ago.
